I had the great honor to photograph a Wedding at the beautiful Oldfield Plantation in Beaufort, South Carolina last month. Lindsay & Mike, a wonderful, sweet couple from the area, said “I do” in an romantic outdoor ceremony at the beautiful Riverhouse under great oak trees, close to the shore. This is such a romantic place. The ones who did see Movies like North&South and Forrest Gump know what I am talking about. The big Oak trees with the Spanish moss turns the place into a magical place. The area is famous for its Plantations and great Mansions.
Lindsay and Mike, both Tennis players, met during a summer camp while both were teaching Tennis to kids. Lindsay was in her last year in College, away from Hilton Head Island, her Hometown, when they fell in love and started dating. So they had a long distance relationship until she graduated. But when love is strong it will survive, no matter what distance. And so did their’s and since then, both are inseparable. There are couples who just ment to be together. Lindsay&Mike are definitely one of them.
The Wedding preparations started at the beach house at a very bright, sunny and very hot day on Hilton Head Island. The getting ready with all their best friends, the laugther and fun was a great start for this lovely Wedding. The ceremony was scheduled in the late afternoon at the romantic Oldfield Plantation Riverhouse, by a previously first look under the trees, a moment just for them alone. Walking down the aisle together hand in hand as a couple was very special. Friends and Family travelled from all over the US to celebrate with them. It was one of these days I was hoping the sun would never set, the clock would stop ticking and I could go on taking pictures forever.
