Finnish – Swiss Wedding Love Story

Some weddings are just magical. Laura called me in January on her way to work and ask me the question: “are you free next september 9?”  Luckily I was, because this couple and their story is just outstanding. Meeting as teenagers, fell in love but too young for something serious, they left track with eachother over the years ahead. They met again at the wedding of Raphaels Brother and the love back then started to enflame again. What a wonderful love story!

We met in February for the first time to talk about their wedding and had a fun engagement shooting. (Link) Laura came in a soft pink coat and a beautiful braid in her hair. It was a gray, cloudy day, but they made my photos look soft & warm. I couldnt stop pushing the button of my camera, photographically wise – I was in love…

The wedding was held in the beautiful location of the seminar Hotel Gerzensee close to the Swiss main capitol city of Berne. The hotel is not only completely private, they own a small lake with a boathouse, to make it absolutely perfect for wedding photos! When I arrived at the hotel that morning I was speachless of how many beautiful details she added to her wedding. You have to imagine me – walking through every location where a part of the wedding takes place and get excited each time I see a new, cute detail. I was in DETAIL-Heaven!! Laura loves braids. With her dress, the hairdo and the flowers in her hair she looked like an elfe princess, young, sweet but truly elegant. Every guest received a white give away bag, where Laura stamped (!) every single name of their guests on it. It included a bottle of water, a self sewed tear-away fabric, sweets and a bubblemaker. Also every chair for the ceremony was stamped with the guest name. Laura really thought of everything! The decoration was in a charming wild flower style with a touch of vintage. Etsy delivered many wonderful “eat me”, “I do” and “drink me” accessories.  Laura sewed several banners to give her dininghall the final touch. Instead of a table plan, each guest received a lollipop with their table number and name on it. Of course – also hand made stamped by Laura! Selecting the right photos for this blog was the hardest pick I had to made. There are so many wonderful photos to share.

A true fairytale Wedding – with a fairytale couple.
